Gardiner, NY
Wild Flower Farms is a stunning Hudson Valley venue, and I’ve always wanted the opportunity to photograph a wedding there. So you can imagine my delight when I was introduced to Megan & Charlotte by their planner, Shira Bush. They were planning an intimate wedding there in October, with just their closest friends and family.
Fall is arguably when the Hudson Valley show up best. You can usually expect crisp blue skies, a little color in the trees, and a golden hour that times up perfectly with cocktail hour. I’d say this day ticked all those boxes!
We started the day in two of the luxurious, on-site cabins, each flooded with natural light and featuring views of the mountains in the distance. Once everyone was ready, we did a quick first look and were off to portraits on the Maple House lawn.
Their short and sweet ceremony was officiated by their dear friend, against the backdrop of Maple Alley. It was a family forward ceremony with a lovely hand fasting conducted by some of Megan’s family members, and their children led them out during the recession with a hand made banner.
Cocktails were enjoyed around the fire pit, and a delicious farm-to-table dinner was served inside the Maple House. After a quick outfit change, they were ready to dance the night away under the colorful lights.
