Grand Central Station – New York City
Proposal photography seems to have really taken off in the last few years, and I can understand why. It’s the start of your marriage journey – it deserves good pictures!
This particular proposal was organized while the couple were visiting New York City from out of state. The original plan was to do it during a scenic helicopter ride, but mother nature had other plans. Violent thunderstorms made the flight impossible, so we had to pivot to a different location.
Grand Central, with it’s unique architecture and landmark status, provided a fitting backdrop for a New York City proposal. The fact that it’s always crowded and filled with people with cameras made it easy for me to blend in unnoticed while I waited for the big moment. While admiring the famous ceiling mural from a balcony, Peter got down on one knee popped the question. She never saw it coming!
When photographing a proposal, I always encourage people to include time for a mini session afterwards. The genuine excitement, smiles, and heightened emotions never disappoint.
